Tejas Flags

Old Tejas flags.

1824 flag = from the Texas Revolution.

That bottom one, well, your guess is as good as mine since I'm too lazy to go back to the Capitol Visitors Center to investigate.

Pop quiz! How many different state flags has Texas had?

Blooms

I hope that in a couple months when I am melting in 100degree weather I can look back and say, well, at least it was sunny, in the delightful 70s, and stuff bloomed back in Feb/March...

Cowboy Footwear

Oh howdy cowboy boots, what up?
Try to contain your jealousy of this person's leopard print car.

And be sure to note the leopard head on the hood.

TX-Sized Goldfish

So you can't really tell but these are Texas-sized goldfish* (that wall surrounding them is at least 3 feet high). They live at The Alamo. You know, like the Fort. Like "Remember the Alamo". Like "Come and Get it."

Texas-sized goldfish that live at the Alamo? Yeah, I wouldn't mess with them.

*Okay, not really. But they were startling large fish and they really do live at The Alamo.

Ever wondered what a dead-in-"winter" cactus looks like?

Well here you go:

Hey Y'all

Update: I will have to update the text blurb on the right because I know say "y'all" without thinking about it.

Even worse? I say it correctly. Texans don't correct my pronunciation of it anymore.

Religious Duckies

Oh hey, religious duckies, how's it going?

These are sold in some random store on the main street of Fredericksburg, TX should you be interested. Fredericksburg is home to many random stores. And bakeries. Bakeries that don't sell cupcakes. Wtf?

More duckies to come. Stay tuned.

Idaho Spud Candy

It is a scary world when this is considered candy.

No, I don't know what it is but I do depend on google to run my life so I googled it and found this: Idaho Spud Fan Club.

Apparently you can make appetizers, pie, or cake with these guys (and usually with microwaves, not so much ovens). Huh....

Got Snow?

So, I get that winter decorations are generally seasonal. But really: the "Got Snow?" and "Let it Snow" ones in Austin?

In Austin?! You know, the city where we set a new record high on Friday: 91' in February.
