Lonestar Highway, p. 2

See the little tiny Texas outline with the flag?

Once again, never waste an opportunity to remind the world you are in Texas, even if it is only on the interstate.

Ball of pennies = art?

A bizarre statue sculpture thing on campus. It has pennies pressed into it. Art confuses me sometimes....

Haribo + Heat = ....

Not exactly Texas-related but here's a tip: don't leave an open 3lb bag of Haribo gummy bears on the rear dashboard in 90+ degree heat...

More of Town Lake, down to the west from the boathouse...

Lonestar on the Highway, p. 1

Never miss an opportunity to decorate with a lonestar... even if it's a pillar holding up the interstate.

(Not a great photo but inside that circle on the pillar is a lonestar)

Cacti are funny

These cacti made me laugh.

Lonestar option for your trailer hitch.
Other options include Longhorns, UT, Aggies, a state flag....

Rowing one evening on Town Lake

(again, I aim to not have people - at least not recognizably- in these photos so it's kinda limited....)

Weiner Time

Yeah, juvenile but amusing nonetheless: that billboard says"It's Weiner Time!"

State Flag Bench

Seriously, this state flag is everywhere. It's on so many objects. Like this bench.

Graffiti

Bridge graffiti (not quite the same as the Charles' with its graffiti from the various teams....)

Texas Hall of Wildlife

So the Texas Memorial Museum, home of the Natural Science Exhibit turns out to be an enormous tease. It's a big, impressive building on campus that I walk by all the time. You go in it, however, and wtf? There's no real animal life except for pinned butterflies (and clearly that's not life). There are some cool rocks, a dinosaur skeleton suspended from the ceiling, and some shiny bugs on display. So you think "Oh! Hall of Texas Wildlife! Sweet!" and head upstairs.

Lies! I tell you, its all lies. There are replicas of animals but no real ones. Not even any stuffed ones!

The rocks turned out be the coolest thing in there.

4th of July Cupcakes

I half expected to be chastised for not creating a Texas flag out of cupcakes....

Fireworks

Fireworks over Town Lake on the 4th of July (we got there literally 2 mins before they ended. Thanks traffic!)

Tower

Oh hey tower.

Man that was a gray day. Rare.

Fleece in Summer

Random dude on campus wearing a fleece vest in 92 degrees.

Seriously.

Granted, that is 10+ degrees cooler than the days have been recently...

Lake LBJ

Lake LBJ back in March; about 1hr outside of Austin in a little tiny town. The town has a lot of lake houses where people only come on weekends or in summer.

It is much prettier when it's sunny and warm and summertime! It's sweet.

You've Been Warned...

Good advice I guess?
