On the drive to Canada (25hrs if you go straight through which, rest assured, we did not), the car I was in encountered some interesting things....

Now, what exactly is a prairie chicken? We didn't know either. Then we found one.

Our route included: Texas-Oklahoma-Kansas-Missouri-Iowa-Illinois-Indiana-Michigan-Canada! It was a little, oh, not exactly direct because we stopped in 2 places to see friends.

Bat Boat!

Since Bat Fest is going on,  thought this image would be appropriate: it's a boat with a covering that is bat-shaped. It takes people out to watch the bats fly out from under Congress Ave just after sunset.
