Bat Boat!

Since Bat Fest is going on,  thought this image would be appropriate: it's a boat with a covering that is bat-shaped. It takes people out to watch the bats fly out from under Congress Ave just after sunset.

Creeperbird

Creeper bird on Town Lake (aka Lady Bird Lake or Towne Lake. Everything in this city has 2+ names.

Ended up seeing a similar one at the race venue in Tennessee in April and May. That one was viscous!

TX-Sized Goldfish

So you can't really tell but these are Texas-sized goldfish* (that wall surrounding them is at least 3 feet high). They live at The Alamo. You know, like the Fort. Like "Remember the Alamo". Like "Come and Get it."

Texas-sized goldfish that live at the Alamo? Yeah, I wouldn't mess with them.

*Okay, not really. But they were startling large fish and they really do live at The Alamo.

Woof

This dog is totally wearing a Texas Longhorns shirt.

He was not psyched. He tried rolling on the ground, in true lab style, to get it off. He failed. Then he ran around in circles. Yea dog!

Starr

So the other day the baby & I were out for a wandering walk in a very residential neighborhood when I saw this sign:

What?! I turned the baby's stroller so she could look in too.

And this is what we saw: I think it's a pig but since it wouldn't turn around, it was hard to tell. We'll go back & I'll get a better photo.

Turtles

There are little black almost, well, lines in the water- those are turtles. They got freaked out by my shadow when I came nearby.
